After a product cutout, inspect the edges before changing the background
Quick answer
Check a product’s outline against light, dark and final-layout backgrounds so that transparency, reflections and shadows do not cause surprises at delivery.

Distinguish the product from its photographed background
A transparent glass bottle may retain the original background color inside its body. Removing the area outside the bottle does not make the glass naturally transparent. Identify labels, the cap, reflections and translucent areas, and decide which details must remain.
Start with a clear, unobstructed original. Heavy compression, similar object and background colors, or blurred edges make separation harder to judge. Keep the original file and repair only a copy.
Inspect the same cutout against three backgrounds
A white background can hide pale fringes; black reveals a white halo more easily. Place the same result on white, dark grey and the actual design background instead of judging success only on a transparency checkerboard.
Inspect cap ridges, the inside of handles and translucent film. Note problems at a close zoom, then return to normal size to decide whether they affect the intended use.
- Check that the outer outline has not been cut away.
- Look for retained background inside openings and transparent areas.
- Return to delivery size and confirm that edges neither glow nor look dirty.
Match the contact shadow to the new background
A floating product often lacks a convincing connection to its surface. After choosing a simple background, check the light direction and shadow beneath the object. Avoid pairing a highlight on the right with a shadow cast to the right.
In tokensmore.ai, check whether the background-removal tool is currently available, then organize candidate replacement backgrounds. Change one background at a time and keep a version with clean edges as your baseline.
Verify transparency and color on export
When transparency is required, export in a format that supports an alpha channel and reopen the file to check it. A white preview does not prove transparency remains, and a filename extension alone does not verify the export.
Include the purpose, dimensions and remaining repair notes. If the asset will appear in several layouts, checking both light and dark backgrounds is more useful than looking good in one promotional image.
